Oubre Named Next Arete Prep Varsity Football Coach

Justin “Joe” Oubre has been named the next Head Football Coach at Arete Prep. Oubre takes the reins from Coach Mike Marino, who has accepted another coaching opportunity. We wish Coach Marino the best of luck in his next coaching chapter! Oubre is a former American football player and coach known for his contributions to the sport as both a collegiate athlete and a high school football coach. His career has spanned competitive high school football in Tennessee, collegiate play in the Mid-South Conference, and later mentorship of young athletes through coaching.Oubre first gained recognition as a standout football player at Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, Tennessee under Hall of Fame coach David Martin. During his time with the Cougars, he played multiple defensive positions, showcasing versatility, toughness, and physical play. During his time at Goodpasture the school enjoyed one of its most successful campaigns, reaching the Tennessee Class 2A state

The Arete Archery teams competed at NASP States on 3/7, heading into Spring Break. Our archers battled windy conditions and delays to still achieve some excellent results and finishes:Genevieve Thus is a State Champion taking home 1st in Middle School 3D competition! Other top finishers included:Adalynn Galanos 3rd place for Elementary Bullseye.Eleanor Wray-Wallace 3rd place for Middle School 3DMiddle School Team took 3rd place for 3D.NASP Western Nationals takes place in Sandy, Utah starting in 4/24. Arete Archery will welcome hundreds of archers from across Arizona to campus this Saturday for our 6th Annual NASP Tournament. Competitors will shoot in both bullseye and 3D events, with flights running from 8:00am–5:00pm.The Arete community is invited to come out, celebrate our archers, and experience firsthand what has become an outstanding event. We will recognize our Archery Class of 2026 seniors following their 11:30am flight, with senior honors expected around 12:30pm.Better yet, volunteer and help make our tournament a success!
