Arete Archery to Host 6th Annual NASP Tournament on 2/7
Arete Archery will welcome hundreds of archers from across Arizona to campus this Saturday for our 6th Annual NASP Tournament. Competitors will shoot in both bullseye and 3D events, with flights running from 8:00am–5:00pm.The Arete community is invited to come out, celebrate our archers, and experience firsthand what has become an outstanding event. We will recognize our Archery Class of 2026 seniors following their 11:30am flight, with senior honors expected around 12:30pm.Better yet, volunteer and help make our tournament a success! You can use the following link to get involved- basic training is available for any and all positions- so don’t hesitate. Arete Prep Boys Varsity Soccer made history last week, becoming the first team in school history to claim back-to-back region championships. The Chargers clinched the AIA 2A East title with a dominant 5–2 road victory over Gilbert Classical.Three freshmen—Taz Hingson, Santi Ibazeta, and Eamonn Connelly—set the tone early, each finding the back of the net in the first half to give Arete Prep a commanding lead. Senior Ben Fornoff put the result beyond doubt, scoring the fourth and fifth goals to seal the championship.After dropping their opening region match of the season, the Chargers responded when it mattered most, finishing region play on a four-game winning streak. Arete Prep is currently ranked No. 8 in 2A Boys Soccer and is in position to host a state tournament match for the second consecutive year. Senior Harrison Kremer etched his name into the record books by becoming the all-time leading scorer in Arete Prep boys basketball history. Harrison surpassed the previous record of 1,276 points, held by Ryan Mourad (Class of 2023), with a layup during an 11-point performance at Veritas Prep.He wasn’t done there as he followed up his historic moment with a 23-point outing on Friday night, powering the Chargers to an exciting win over Santa Cruz.This milestone is a testament to Harrison's four years of dedication, relentless work ethic, and commitment to excellence on the court. Arete Prep Boys HS XC qualified for their 8th straight state meet with a 2nd place sectional finish. The Chargers ran at Cave Creek GC on Saturday. Junior John Bruns came in 5th place, crossing the finish line in 16:54. Fellow Junior Jorge Partida also medaled, placing 17th at 17:28.

Arete Archery had a very successful first competition tournament of the '25-26 season. The Chargers competed in both Bullseye and 3D Competition. Genevieve Thus was top female shooter on BE and 3D, and Sadie Frasure was the 2nd place female shooter on BE & 3D. Matthew Hillquist was 2nd highest shooter on 3D. Overall, Arete took home 16 of the 36 possible awards from the tournament.
