The recipients of this award have not only displayed outstanding athletic performance in their sports, but have embraced the ideals of the Arete Prep culture and community. Arete Prep Track and Field Shines at State MeetThe Arete Prep Track and Field team capped off their season with an impressive showing at the AIA State Track and Field Meet held at Red Mountain High School over the weekend. The team brought home two gold medals and numerous podium finishes, with the boys placing 5th overall out of 36 scoring teams.Senior Michael Harambasic led the way with a stellar performance in the 100m, winning gold with a personal best and new school record time of 11.0 seconds—edging out second place by just 0.01 seconds. He also earned bronze in the 200m (23.00) and placed 4th in the 400m (51.62).Senior Max Bruns closed out his high school career in epic fashion, capturing gold in the 800m with a thrilling final straightaway surge—breaking the 2:00 barrier for the first time. The Arete Prep MS Track and Field teams competed at the GHMSL Championships on Saturday at Independence HS in Glendale. The girls team finished 8th out of 14 teams, and the boys 10th out of 15. Arete found the podium four times in field events. Nahia Rodriguez (8th grade) earned Gold in the girls triple jump. At the end of this week Arete Archery will make what has become an annual trek to Sandy, Utah and the Mountain America Center to compete in the 2025 NASP US Western Nationals. Arete Athletics, in partnership with our Athletic Training partner, OrthoArizona, will host sports physicals on 5/10 from 8-Noon. This physical will take care of your requirement to participate in '25-26 Arete Prep sports. Take care of it now and be ready to compete in August!
