Arete Prep Basketball seniors Grace Howell and Ryan Mourad both recently surpassed 1,000 points for their careers. A four year player, Grace is the second female in program history to break this prestigious milestone, joining Jamie Young. Howell eclipsed the mark in a home region game last week vs. San Tan Charter. This season, Grace once again ranks as one of the top 3 point shooters in the 2A conference. Mourad earned his 1,000 point in a holiday tournament win vs. Valley Lutheran. He joins Matthew Mcclelland ('22) and Joey Patrick ('18) in the 1,000 point club for the boys. Last night, Ryan scored 21 in a win over Miami to give him 1,098 , passing Patrick's career total of 1,094. He now sets his sights on McClelland's school record of 1,137 career points. Most importantly, both players will look to help their team's finish region play strong, and send both teams back to the 2A State Tournament.
