Varsity Track and Field competed in the Division V AIA State Championships at Red Mountain HS over the weekend. Jason Rozas, Derick Ruiz, Michael Harambasic, and Baraka Nzou were crowned State Champions in the 4x400 Relay. They crossed the finish line in 3:29.63 to take the gold. Michael Harambasic earned two silver medals in the 100 (11.23) and 200 (22.62). Michael, a sophomore, ran an 11.0 in the prelims and holds the Arete school records in both events. He will get the chance to compete in the AIA Open Championship in the 100 next weekend, testing himself against the best competition across all divisions, that the state has to offer. The Open Championship takes place at MCC with preliminary races beginning on Friday. Other Championship meet highlights for the Chargers included:

Derick Ruiz- 800m finals- 6^th place (2:01.52)

Noah Wesson- 3200m finals- 16^th place (10:32)

Brody Barton- Triple Jump finals- 10^th place (38-10.50)

Bekah Garver- 100m hurdles prelims- 12^th place (18:07)
