MS Track and Field capped one of the best seasons in program history with a solid Championship meet Saturday at Apollo HS. We had 21 athletes qualify this year, in many different events. John Bruns had a fantastic day winning the 1600m race with a meet record time of 4:58, the first time an athlete has broken the 5-minute barrier at this meet! John also went on to place 2nd and PR in the 800, as well as earning a Pr and taking 4th in the 400m race. Dani Kerwin put on a display in the 100m Hurdles, being the only girl to break 18 in the hurdles and brought home the gold, while also qualifying for finals in the 100. Rebekah Ponce also had an outstanding meet and took home 2 medals as well, with her 2nd place finish in the 1600m and 3rd place finish in the 800m.
